DBA (Oracle and SQL) – homebased – £65,000-£70,000 – Permanent

We are working with a client who are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in both Oracle and SQL to join their dynamic team.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are experienced in DBA to manage, maintain, and optimise both Oracle and SQL databases. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Azure DevOps, Azure SQL, scripting, and ETL processes using SSIS. An OCA or OCP certification is ideal. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Oracle and SQL databases, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Utilise Azure DevOps for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
  • Administer and optimise Azure SQL databases.
  • Develop and maintain scripts for database management and automation.
  • Design and implement ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Monitor database performance and implement necessary optimisations and tuning.
  • Conduct regular backups, restore tests, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support application development and deployment.
  • Maintain and update database documentation and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a DBA with expertise in both Oracle and SQL databases.
  • Strong experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in administering Azure SQL databases.
  • Experience in writing and maintaining scripts for database management (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
  • Expertise in designing and implementing ETL processes using SSIS.
  • Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
  • Solid understanding of database performance tuning and optimisation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

This is a remote position where you will be invited to office events every quarter where attendance is not mandatory.
