Oracle DBA – Inside IR35 – remote – £650-680 a day – 3 months

We are working with a client who are seeking a highly skilled Oracle DBA to join their team on an inside IR35 contract basis for 3 months. If you have a passion for database management and a proven track record in Oracle upgrades and Azure DevOps, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for an experienced Oracle DBA with expertise in Azure DevOps, Oracle version 19, scripting, and PowerShell. The ideal candidate will hold OCA or OCP certification and possess a strong understanding of database administration and optimisation. This role will be crucial in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of their Oracle databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Oracle databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Plan and execute upgrades to Oracle 19, minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity.
  • Utilise Azure DevOps for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell for automation and efficient database management.
  • Monitor database performance and implement necessary optimisations and tuning.
  • Conduct regular backups, restore tests, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support application development and deployment.
  • Maintain and update database documentation and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Oracle DBA with a focus on database management and upgrades.
  • Strong experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in scripting, particularly using PowerShell.
  • Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle 19 and experience with database upgrades.
  • Solid understanding of database performance tuning and optimisation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
